A Practice Built on Attention and Care

Haldane is a Bangkok-based legal practice offering considered, practical advice on corporate and commercial matters in Thailand.

Founded on the Belief That Legal Advice Should Be Accessible

Haldane came about from a straightforward observation: businesses operating in Thailand — particularly those led by foreign nationals or international investors — often found it difficult to access legal advice that was both technically reliable and genuinely easy to engage with. Much of the existing provision was either too large and impersonal, or too narrowly focused on a single aspect of commercial law.

The firm was established on South Sathorn Road in Bangkok with a focus on three areas where that need was most evident: helping people form and structure companies correctly from the start, reviewing and drafting the agreements that underpin commercial relationships, and helping organizations understand the regulatory environment in which they operate.

The firm's approach has remained consistent: take the time to understand what the client is trying to achieve, explain the legal position clearly and without unnecessary complexity, and deliver work that is thorough and well-organized. This is not a rapid-turnaround service — it is a practice that takes the quality of its work seriously.

Legal Practitioners in Bangkok's Commercial District

The firm operates from South Sathorn Road in Bangkok — one of the city's principal business corridors — and draws on an understanding of both the formal legal framework and the practical realities of doing business in Thailand. The Thai legal environment is layered, with a combination of Thai civil and commercial codes, sector-specific legislation, and a growing body of regulatory guidance from agencies such as the Department of Business Development, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee.

For foreign nationals and international businesses, navigating this environment requires not only knowledge of the law as written, but also familiarity with how it operates in practice — including timelines, documentation expectations, and the way in which different agencies interpret their own requirements. The firm has developed that familiarity over years of working on matters at each stage of the business lifecycle.

Clients include SMEs at the point of Thai market entry, established businesses facing contract or compliance questions, and individuals who require advice on commercial arrangements. The common thread is a preference for working with practitioners who take the matter seriously and communicate clearly — which is, in essence, what Haldane offers.
